The increasing reliance on AI in the workplace is transforming the way employees interact with their colleagues and may lead to feelings of loneliness, according to a recent study. As employees turn to AI systems for support and guidance, they may find themselves interacting with these systems more than their human coworkers. This shift towards an “asocial system” could lead to a sense of disconnection and isolation among employees, potentially negatively impacting their wellbeing.

This is particularly concerning for employees who have a heightened need for social connections.

So on the one hand, increased interaction with AI can possibly lead to feelings of loneliness. But yet using AI can provide employees with valuable support and guidance.

What do you believe would be the resultant impact on mental health and wellbeing? We live in an interesting world.
