SPENCER, Iowa (KTIV) – It is time to start getting ready for kids to head back to school. But, between school supplies, and medical exams, costs add up fast.
The Spencer Community School District has joined forces with a local organization to help families out.
The Community Health Center of Spencer wants to alleviate some of that anxiety both with resources for parents, and a night of fun for everyone.
This year’s event was the first of its kind, and organizers hope it brings awareness to resources available to local families.
“This is huge for us.
Originally it was just open to smaller groups based on grant funding, not we are opening up to all ofSpencer Schools. Hopefully word gets out and people start utilizing Community Health Center, and seeing all of the offerings that Spencer Schools has so we can continue to grow and offer it on a larger scale in the future,” Christensen explained.
