😮 According to researchers from Australia and Ireland, allowing employees to use their phones during work hours can make no difference to productivity and might even reduce stress! 💆‍♀️💪In a recent study, researchers kept tabs on 40 employees at a European branch of a global pharmaceutical company and found that those who were allowed to use their phones during work had lower levels of stress compared to those who didn’t. 😌 The study even found that workers who used their phones at work felt more connected and less disconnected from their colleagues and work. 🤝

But wait, there’s more! The study also found that the company’s strict phone ban, which dates back to the 1990s, was actually counter-productive and caused unnecessary stress for employees. 😩 The researchers concluded that managers should reconsider their approach to phone use at work and embrace the benefits of allowing employees to use their phones.

To determine the impact of phone use in the workplace, the study followed 39 employees for a year who were permitted to use their devices for non-work purposes. Before the experiment, only senior management were allowed to bring their personal phones to work.
